PROJECTS

International Buddhist Trust of NZ

East Tamaki,  NZ -  Worship, retreat and community centre.

The International Buddhist Brothers established the second largest Buddhist Temple in the southern hemisphere, on a 4 hectare site in suburban Auckland

Six separate buildings required Heatwave to design and build separate, heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems for each building, linked by common site services.  Cooling water, heating water and natural gas were reticulated around the site to these buildings from an Energy Centre established at the rear of the site. This contained NG boilers, pumps, DHW calorifiers, heat exchangers, controls, and the potential for the future addition of cooling towers and associated equipment.

Massey Community Centre

Waitakere City, NZ - Multi purpose community centre.

Extract ventilation systems, space heating, underfloor heating, and domestic hot water, all controlled from a central plant room, provide for the differing requirements of a Recreation hall, a crèche, a fitness centre, change rooms and reception facilities.

Established close to a residential neighbourhood, overcoming noise issues during the design and installation stage was a particular concern in delivering this facility to the local community.

New Lynn Library

New Lynn, Waitakere City, NZ - design and build.

Initially over budget, Heatwave was commissioned to re-design the climate control services to provide a cost effective, energy efficient solution to the varying demands of a modern library.

The timeframe was tight; construction schedules could not be altered.  A combination of central plant air-conditioning, electric heating, split systems, economiser cycles, low displacement air diffusion and natural ventilation were designed, constructed and installed , on time and on budget.
